“My background was in broadcast television and after graduating with a BA (Hons) in Drama, Television & Theatre Studies I worked for Channel 4 Television, ITV and other smaller companies. I spent time as a studio manager dealing with the technical operations of a television studio, a background which has proved to be beneficial to me as a photographer. A few years ago, I gave up the hectic life in central London broadcasting to look after my children. As a mother, I realised how valuable photographs of your children are, and I started to take lots of photos of my kids and so it built, until I started working as a professional photographer. “
What is Digital Art Photography?
That is a very interesting question, and very subjective. I consider my work to be digital art photography, as it has a foundation and starts with photography. I take photographs and develop ideas and concepts to create a piece of art which is is different form the original image I photographed. I use photoshop to create composites, adding in and taking out elements and I make the impossible appear possible. It’s fun and is only limited by my imagination.
